Interesting facts

Central Museum of Textiles

The White Factory (Polish: Biała Fabryka) is the classicist building in Łódź, Poland, constructed in 1835-1839 to host a textile factory which belonged to Ludwik Geyer. It currently hosts the Central Museum of Textiles and Folk Dance Ensemble “HARNAM”. It is considered a fine example of early industrial architecture in Łódź. The building is located at the southern end of Piotrkowska Street, south of the city center.

Museum of Cinematography

Opened in 1986 inside Karol Scheibler’s extraordinary 19th-century palace, the Cinematography Museum offers visitors two unique attractions in one. The museum itself offers a well-presented history of Polish cinema  and takes plenty of hats off to the multitude of Polish film greats who studied in the city before going on to greater things, as well as numerous changing exhibitions.

Mausoleum of Poznański and Scheiblers

The Mausoleum of Poznański and Scheiblers is two memories that tell us what city Łódź was. Above all, rich and industrial. Schreiblers and Poznańskis were families of wealthy manufacturers. Secondly, a city of many cultures and religions, because they were the first Protestants and the other Jews. The remaining funerary chapels are in themselves the artistry of cemetery art, and embedded in history and context, they are an amazing reminiscence of the past glory of Lodz.
